Why it exists
Vademecum started while studying for medicine boards. On the wards a question would come up, a tab would open on the phone, then another. By the end of the week there were dozens, and they were skimmed or closed. Whatever was meant to be learned from them mostly went with them.
The real room to learn in residency wasn't long study blocks. It was the drive home, a gap between admissions, ten minutes before sign-out. Those minutes were real, but nothing was built for them. Vademecum is meant to fill that gap, and to keep you current with the literature as your clinical expertise grows.
